Message from the seller

The 2010 Cadillac Escalade Luxury has been redesigned from the ground up with what most reviewers agree are positive results. Great mileage, tons of power, rides like a luxury sedan. The front end of every Escalade is dominated by a bold, egg crate grille that's dripping with chrome trim. The grille is flanked by three element, vertical headlamps that tie the vehicle more closely than ever to the rest of Cadillac's lineup. Both of those elements are set into a one piece fascia that integrates the grille and bumper, conveying a sense of integrity and quality. White Diamond Pearl exterior 6.2 liter V-8 displacement on demand, 403 horsepower with 417 pound feet of torque, rack and pinion steering system, 6 speed automatic heavy duty 6L80 E electronically controlled with overdrive and tow/haul mode that reduces shifting under heavy loads. Driver and passenger front and side impact airbags, side curtain airbag rollover sensor, Intelli Beam headlamps, blue lighted gauges, blue pointers impair readability, leather wrapped heated steering wheel with genuine wood highlights, aluminum and faux wood interior trim, driver information center that monitors up to 31 different systems, tilt steering, cruise control, rain sensing wipers, power folding heated mirrors with turn signal in glass, driver memory 1 and 2 settings, adjustable pedals, full gauge package with warning lights. Dual power 6-way tan high/low heated and cooling leather interior, full power options that all work, center console with plenty of storage and cup holders. Bose 5.1 digital surround sound premium seek-scan Am/Fm/Eq/Xm/Aux/CD navigation system with audio controls on the steering wheel, rearview camera, dual climate control A/c and heater controls with rear passenger controls, power tilt and slide sunroof, overhead console with plenty of reading lights. Auto dim mirror with compass, temp, Onstar, and homelink system, heated rear bench seating with audio controls, power folding seats (second row,) 3rd row seating that gives plenty of room for everyone, or you can take out the 3rd row and then you have plenty of cargo room. Luxury trim style comes with Autoride suspension system with wheel sensors that monitor road surface to reduce bumpiness. Full time system oriented around sure footed traction on slippery pavement. It works particularly well in slushy conditions with inconsistent grip, improving handling stability and traction and helping the driver better control the vehicle. We demand it for winter weather, but it's a great aid in hard rain or on oily pavement or wet leaves or on gravel or dirt roads or in mud. Four wheel disc brakes with ABS, dual piston calipers, vented rotors. Tinted windows, power rear liftgate with defrost, parking rear sensors. The rear view features the nicest modern interpretation of Cadillac's classic skinny taillights, which recall the dramatic tailfins of Cadillacs of the 1960s and '70s, but are now rendered in crisp LED strips. A high mounted, horizontal brake light with LED illumination crosses the top. But the dominant feature of the Escalade's tail is the enormous badge set within a chunky block of chrome trim. Remote start with keyless entry and alarm, front air dam with fog Lights, running boards and luggage rack. Trailer tow package that will tow up to 7800 pounds. 2010 Cadillac Escalade: A Detailed Overview

The 2010 Cadillac Escalade represents the pinnacle of American luxury SUVs, offering a commanding presence, a powerful driving experience, and a wealth of amenities. Building upon its already established reputation, the 2010 model year introduced subtle yet significant refinements, further cementing its status as a symbol of success and sophistication.

Highlights

The 2010 Cadillac Escalade is defined by its robust powertrain, comprehensive safety features, and luxurious appointments, available across a range of well-equipped trims.

  • Engine: At the heart of the Escalade lies a potent 6.2-liter V8 engine. This powerhouse delivers an impressive 403 horsepower and 417 lb-ft of torque, providing effortless acceleration and strong towing capabilities. It's paired with a smooth-shifting 6-speed automatic transmission that contributes to a refined driving experience, whether navigating city streets or cruising on the highway. All-wheel drive (AWD) was standard on most trims, enhancing traction and stability in various driving conditions.

  • Safety Features: Cadillac prioritized occupant safety in the 2010 Escalade with a comprehensive suite of advanced features:

    • StabiliTrak Stability Control System: This system actively monitors steering and braking inputs, automatically applying individual brakes and reducing engine power if it detects a loss of traction, helping to prevent skids and maintain control.
    • Antilock Braking System (ABS): ABS prevents wheel lock-up during hard braking, allowing the driver to maintain steering control and reduce stopping distances.
    • Front and Side-Impact Airbags: The Escalade is equipped with a full array of airbags, including advanced front airbags for the driver and front passenger, and side-impact curtain airbags that deploy to protect occupants in the event of a side collision.
    • OnStar: Standard on most trims, OnStar provides a suite of safety and convenience services, including automatic crash response, emergency services, and turn-by-turn navigation.
    • Rearview Camera: This feature aids in backing up and parking by displaying a live image of the area behind the vehicle on the infotainment screen, significantly reducing blind spots.
  • Trim Summary: The 2010 Escalade was offered in three distinct and well-appointed trims, each offering a progressive level of luxury and features:

    • Luxury: The entry point to the Escalade experience, the Luxury trim still boasts a significant level of standard equipment, including leather upholstery, heated and cooled front seats, a premium Bose audio system, and a power liftgate.
    • Premium: Stepping up to the Premium trim adds further enhancements such as a heated steering wheel, a sunroof, a rear-seat entertainment system, and more advanced interior trim materials.
    • Platinum: The ultimate expression of Escalade luxury, the Platinum trim elevates the experience with premium semi-aniline leather seating, massaging front seats, a magnetic ride control suspension for an even smoother ride, and exclusive badging and interior accents.
  • Other Notable Aspects:

    • Spacious and Lavish Interior: The Escalade is renowned for its cavernous interior, offering ample space for up to seven or eight passengers, depending on the configuration. The cabin is meticulously crafted with high-quality materials, including abundant leather and wood trim, creating an atmosphere of opulence.
    • Advanced Infotainment: A prominent touch-screen infotainment system, often featuring navigation, provided access to audio, climate controls, and connectivity options, further enhancing the premium experience.
    • Towing Capability: With its powerful V8 engine, the Escalade offers respectable towing capabilities, making it a viable option for those who need to haul trailers or boats.

What to Expect

Owning a 2010 Cadillac Escalade typically translates to a sophisticated and comfortable ownership experience, but it's important to be prepared for certain aspects related to its maintenance and insurance.

  • Typical Ownership Experience: The Escalade delivers a smooth, quiet, and commanding ride. Its plush interior creates a sanctuary from the outside world, making long journeys enjoyable. The powerful V8 engine provides effortless acceleration and a confident driving demeanor. The large size and commanding view of the road contribute to a feeling of presence and authority. The abundance of technology and luxury features generally ensures a high level of comfort and convenience for both driver and passengers.

  • Maintenance: As a full-size luxury SUV with a powerful V8 engine, the Escalade is expected to require regular maintenance typical of premium vehicles. This includes timely oil changes, fluid checks, tire rotations, and replacement of wear-and-tear items like brake pads and rotors. Due to its complexity and the sophisticated systems onboard, it's advisable to seek out certified Cadillac technicians or reputable independent shops specializing in luxury vehicles for servicing to ensure proper care and longevity of the components. Expect maintenance costs to be higher than those for smaller or non-luxury vehicles.

  • Insurance: Due to its high value, powerful engine, and luxurious features, insurance premiums for a 2010 Cadillac Escalade are generally higher than for a more common vehicle. Factors such as the driver's record, geographic location, and chosen coverage levels will influence the final cost. Comprehensive and collision coverage will likely be recommended and reflected in the premium.

Potential Considerations

While the 2010 Escalade excels in many areas, potential buyers should be aware of a few drawbacks.

  • Fuel Economy: The 6.2-liter V8 engine, while powerful, is not the most fuel-efficient. Owners can expect relatively low miles per gallon (MPG), especially in city driving conditions. This is a significant factor to consider for those prioritizing fuel savings.

  • Maneuverability in Tight Spaces: Its substantial size, while beneficial for passenger and cargo space, can make maneuvering in tight parking lots or crowded urban environments challenging. The vehicle's turning radius is also not the most compact.

  • Third-Row Seat Accessibility: While the Escalade offers seating for many, accessing and exiting the third row can be somewhat cumbersome, particularly for adults, due to the size and mechanism of the second-row seats.

  • Infotainment System Responsiveness (by modern standards): While advanced for its time, the infotainment system's responsiveness and interface may feel dated compared to the cutting-edge systems found in newer vehicles.

Overall Summary

The 2010 Cadillac Escalade stands as a testament to American luxury and capability in the full-size SUV segment. It offers a potent V8 engine, a wealth of safety features, and a sumptuously appointed interior that exudes prestige. While its fuel economy and sheer size might be considerations, for those seeking a commanding presence, robust performance, and an uncompromised luxury experience, the 2010 Escalade remains a compelling choice, embodying a bygone era of bold American automotive design and comfort.
