2007 SAAB 9-3 TURBO CONVERTIBLE #YS3FD764576103063. (Stock#4357.) Founded in the 1930’s in Sweden, Saab manufactured airplanes, later primarily jet planes, and automobiles. Saab automobiles became almost cultish in the 1960’s, 70’s, and 80’s, known for their unusual styling and great durability and handling on slippery winter roads (not surprising considering the vehicles’ Swedish heritage). The turbocharged 2 litre, 4-cylinder engine, with which this car is equipped, offered 220 horsepower and quite good performance. By 2007, a 6-speed manual transmission was standard equipment and the car was quick, tight, and fun to drive. Our car was purchased new in Maryland and, in 2009, moved to New Jersey with its owner who sold it to our local Saab dealership, Reinertsen Motors. The “Saab Certified” car was soon sold to a local Saab enthusiast with 29,000 miles. In 2019, the car suffered minor damage in a parking lot incident, but remained fully operational and continued to be enjoyed by its owner for another 2 years and 11,000 miles until it was purchased by us in 2021. Under Stable ownership, the Saab received a lot of TLC consisting of mechanical and cosmetic improvements for its next owner to enjoy. A local customer purchased the Saab as a fun, everyday driver with the intent to teach his son how to drive manual. The car comes back to us as a seasoned teacher ready to take on its next pupil or as the perfect summer daily driver.
