2007 Ford Mustang GT Coupe With the exception of modern Mini Coopers, there may be no other car that lends itself to customization and personal touches than late model Ford Mustangs. Because the make has been around so long, an endless list of aftermarket companies provide both cosmetic and performance modifications that are essentially plug and play or snap on. Many owners, on the other hand, are perfectly content with the factory set up and think Ford got it right. For consignment, a 2007 Ford Mustang GT Coupe with a title verified 12,580 actual miles. This one's been kept stock with a few minor reversible additions to the exterior only. We use the term head turner sparingly around here, but this car exemplifies it. Exterior We start with Grabber Orange which alone is attention grabbing. Then add black stripes that run from the bumper, over the top, over the rear wing, and down the rear fascia and valance contouring around the license plate box. There's a bold, black rocker stripe between the wheel openings and argent 17-inch wheels inside them. Let's head out back again where the smoked tail lights are a very nice addition, the louvers on the rear window get our thumbs up too, and the polished tips of the dual exhaust always impress. Up front, inboard fog lights and an added hood scoop add some muscle to the car you'll see in your rear view mirror. Scuffs on the chin are the only exterior imperfections we find. Interior Fairly standard fare inside where Ford's design is clean, efficient, and appropriately sporty when it needs to be. The factory bucket seats are charcoal cloth, high backed and fully adjustable. The rear seats are 2+2 configuration and likely never used. Everything else looks factory original here and is spotless, including the blue lit inset gauges ahead. The center stack houses a standard and somewhat plain AM/FM/CD radio and climate control panel. A clean shifter is in the center console surrounded by molded plastic adjacent to the ergonomic brake lever, while upholders and an armrest/storage bin complete the console. The vinyl inserts on the door panels, renowned for peeling, have been removed. Down below, the low pile black carpet is very nice, and the headliner looks factory fresh. The trunk is cleanly lined with gray panels. Drivetrain The low mileage 'Stang features a stock and slightly dusty 4.6 liter 3 valve V8 under the hood, fuel injected and rated at 300 horsepower. It is mated to a Tremec 3650 5-speed manual transmission routing power to the Ford 8.8 in back with 3.31 gears and TracLoc. Undercarriage Clean and dry underneath with surface rust reserved for the axle, panhard bar, and drive shaft. The dual exhaust carries an H-pipe then finds their way to Ford Racing mufflers and chrome tips out back. Power disc brakes are the appropriate set up for a modern performance car and suspension includes Macpherson struts in front and a 3 link with coil springs and a panhard bar in back. Drive-Ability This youthful car starts right up and rolls onto the test loop, turning heads as it goes. It does everything well, from handling, to acceleration, to braking. There's no reason not to daily drive this car other than to preserve the miles and cleanliness. We note the fog lights can be finicky but all other functions on board operate as they should and we roll this orange pony car back to the mall. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase. If you're looking for a Mustang that hasn't been over personalized, this one seems like a great choice. The color alone is noteworthy and exciting, and when combined with low mileage and a fun stick in the middle, it's a winning combination that will likely get more attention than a safety vest on the highway. Make it your today by calling the mall where we're happy to answer your questions! 1ZVFT82

2007 Ford Mustang

The 2007 Ford Mustang offered a compelling blend of classic American muscle car styling with modern performance and features, building upon the success of its 2005 redesign. It represented a significant step forward for the Mustang, appealing to both nostalgic enthusiasts and a new generation of buyers seeking a stylish and engaging coupe or convertible.

Highlights

  • Engine Options:

    • 4.0L SOHC V6: This engine provided a respectable 210 horsepower and 194 lb-ft of torque, offering a good balance of performance and fuel efficiency for everyday driving. It was a solid choice for those who wanted the Mustang look without the higher cost and fuel consumption of the V8.
    • 4.6L SOHC V8 (GT): The iconic "Bullitt" V8 delivered a potent 300 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque. This engine was the heart of the Mustang GT, offering exhilarating acceleration and the unmistakable sound of American V8 power, making it the preferred choice for performance-oriented buyers.
  • Safety Features:

    • Front-Seat Side Airbags: These airbags deployed from the sides of the front seats to protect occupants' chests and abdomens in side-impact collisions.
    • Anti-lock Braking System (ABS): ABS prevents wheel lock-up during hard braking, allowing the driver to maintain steering control and reduce stopping distances, especially on slippery surfaces.
    • Traction Control: This system helps prevent wheel spin during acceleration, particularly on slippery surfaces, by reducing engine power or applying individual brakes. This enhances grip and stability.
    • AdvanceTrac with Electronic Stability Control (ESC) (Optional): A more advanced system that helps prevent skids and loss of control by automatically applying brakes to individual wheels and reducing engine power when it detects the vehicle is about to spin out.
  • Trim Summary:

    • Mustang V6: The entry-level model, offering the 4.0L V6 engine and a good array of standard features, including air conditioning, power windows and locks, and a CD player. This trim provided the Mustang experience at a more accessible price point.
    • Mustang GT: The performance-focused trim, equipped with the 4.6L V8 engine. It also often included upgraded suspension components, larger wheels, and distinctive GT badging to set it apart.
    • Mustang GT with Bullitt Package (Limited Edition): While not a separate trim in the traditional sense, the 2007 model year also featured a limited-production Bullitt package, celebrating the 40th anniversary of the iconic movie. This package included unique styling cues like a dark metallic paint, a billet grille, special wheels, and a performance exhaust, along with a slight horsepower boost to the 4.6L V8. This was a highly desirable option for collectors and enthusiasts.
  • Other Notable Aspects:

    • Retro Styling: The 2007 Mustang continued to impress with its strong retro styling, reminiscent of the classic Mustangs of the 1960s. This aesthetic was a major draw for many buyers.
    • Independent Rear Suspension (IRS): A significant improvement over previous generations, the Mustang featured independent rear suspension, which greatly enhanced ride quality and handling, making it a more comfortable and capable car on a variety of roads.
    • Interior Design: The interior offered a driver-focused cockpit with a blend of classic and modern design elements, including a tasteful dashboard layout and comfortable seating.

What to Expect

Owning a 2007 Ford Mustang is typically a rewarding experience, marked by a blend of sporty driving dynamics and a sense of occasion. You can expect a car that feels engaging and fun to drive, especially the GT models. The V6 offers sufficient power for most driving situations, while the V8 GT provides ample acceleration for spirited driving and highway cruising.

  • Maintenance: Routine maintenance will be similar to other Ford vehicles of the era. Expect regular oil changes, filter replacements, tire rotations, and brake checks. For the V8 models, keeping up with spark plug and fluid changes is crucial for optimal performance. While generally reliable, as with any vehicle of this age, keep an eye out for potential wear and tear on components like suspension bushings, exhaust systems, and aging interior electronics. Finding qualified mechanics familiar with the Mustang's platform should not be difficult.

  • Insurance: Insurance costs for a 2007 Mustang can vary significantly based on factors such as your age, driving record, location, and the specific trim level. The GT models, with their higher performance and potential for spirited driving, may incur higher insurance premiums compared to the V6 models. It's always advisable to get quotes from multiple insurance providers to find the best rates.

Potential Considerations

While the 2007 Mustang is a well-regarded vehicle, there are a few potential considerations for prospective buyers:

  • Interior Noise: Some owners have noted that road and wind noise can be more prominent in the Mustang compared to some more luxury-oriented coupes, especially at highway speeds. This is not uncommon for a sporty car, but it's something to be aware of if a whisper-quiet cabin is a top priority.
  • Rear Seat Space: The rear seats in the Mustang are best suited for children or for short trips for adults due to limited legroom and headroom, a common characteristic of the coupe body style.
  • Visibility: While improved over older generations, the Mustang's styling can sometimes lead to some blind spots, particularly when maneuvering in tight spaces or changing lanes.
  • Early Production Concerns: As with any new generation or significant redesign, there were minor "teething issues" reported in early production models. While most have likely been addressed by now through recalls or owner interventions, it's worth researching specific common issues for the 2007 model year.

Overall Summary

The 2007 Ford Mustang successfully revitalized the iconic pony car with its compelling retro styling, modern engineering, and strong performance options. It offered a desirable package for those seeking a stylish, engaging, and classically American driving experience. Whether you opted for the more accessible V6 or the potent V8 GT, the 2007 Mustang delivered a fun and memorable ride, solidifying its place as a beloved modern classic.
