2005 Ford Mustang GT Coupe The American Iron Extreme Series was created to meet the needs of domestic sedan racers looking for a series specifically tailored to accommodate highly modified vehicles that are currently relegated to racing in Unlimited or Spec limited series. This series is designed to field a large high profile group of American muscle cars and will unify fields of cars that currently race in other sanctioning organizations. This large field/open modification concept will provide racers and vendors access to a promotional racing venue containing similarly prepared and appearing cars that can run nearly unlimited configurations. Drivenasa.com For consignment, a 2005 Ford Mustang GT coupe with unknown mileage. This is a fully built race car that has not only competed, but won a championship in 2016. Our consignor states it makes 680 horsepower on pump gas and we have no reason to doubt that! NO TITLE, BILL OF SALE ONLY Exterior It's not the low stance, black paint, or Altezza style tail lights that make this Mustang look like a race car, rather, it's the gaps where the inboard fog lights might be, the hood pins on the vented carbon fiber hood, and the tow hooks front and back. The appearance doesn't suffer from the big 18-inch wheels carrying 35 series, ZR rated tires with an early 2024 date code. More air intake is achieved with ducts on the lower fascia and drilled holes in otherwise solid parts of the factory grille. All windows are now Lexan and the large spoiler out back is steeply angled for downforce.  t's a race car so naturally you'll have imperfections including a scratch in the carbon fiber, various chips including a spray of rock chips behind the wheels, and various other scratches and scuffs, but overall, a clean presentation. Interior The doors have been stripped of everything except the opener, and a full NASCAR cage has been added inside where a pair of Sparco racing seats are hooked in. A flat bottomed steering wheel fronts a purpose built dash with fuel shut off, FuelTech digital screen, and a panel of toggle switches. A stout shifter resides on the tunnel and diamond steel plating serves as flooring. No carpet, no radio, and no distractions for the task at hand! Drivetrain Under the hood is the race ready 302ci 3-valve with a DSS 302 forged stroker kit, ARP hardware, a stage II Kenne Bell supercharger, ported heads, and Hot Rod cams. It's mated to a Tremec 3650 5-speed manual transmission and clutch built for road racing. A Ford 8.8 rear axle is the final destination for the consignor stated 680 horses. There's also a Kenne Bell cold air intake in the bay. Undercarriage The Kooks stainless exhaust system including headers and mufflers shines bright underneath and exits at the stock GT location on each side of the rear valance. Cobra power disc brakes are up front and the same configuration is used in back while the suspension is MacPherson struts in front and a 3 link with coil springs and a panhard bar in back. There's minimal surface rust underneath, a few pan belly scrapes, and no errant fluids.  Drive-Ability Well, don't mind if we do! The exhaust note is a 10 out of 10 for us as we slowly roll this racer onto our humble test loop where it performs leaps above your standard GT and the inside caters to constant turns at high speeds. All the bells and whistles have been removed so functionally, we find everything working, and of course, the handling and its built suspension is on point! While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase. Check out the National Auto Sport Association and if you're up for it, get involved in American Iron racing with this essentially turnkey Mustang. The hard part's been done for you, now you get to have fun on the track! NO TITLE, BILL OF SALE ONLY 1ZVHT82H955196684 1ZV-Automotive Al
