In the diesel truck world, the OBS Powerstroke is a name that carries real weight. OBS stands for Old Body Style, and 1997 was the last year Ford produced it. There was no 1998 F250. Ford went straight from this generation to the all-new 1999 Super Duty, which means this truck is the end of a line that defined an era. Built around the 7.3 liter Powerstroke, a turbocharged diesel developed by Navistar International, these trucks built a reputation for mechanical simplicity and long-term durability that no diesel that has followed has fully matched. This one, finished in Medium Toreador Red with the Light Opal Metallic two-tone, has been built far beyond stock. This truck has been completely redone, the body was stripped down to the frame and restored to its former glory. The motor has been professionally rebuilt by a diesel technician with a performance chip added, and the five-speed manual keeps the driver fully connected to every bit of torque it makes. The MBRP exhaust with tip and muffler lets it breathe and sound the way a diesel should. Upgraded red hose internals, a diesel reader, a Yukon differential, rear disc brakes, and a powder coated frame tell the story of a truck that has been built to last and built to perform. The trailer brake module and bed cover round out a truck that is fully capable on the job or on the road. Inside, the RK custom seats, carpet, and steering wheel give the cabin a clean, finished look in red and black leather that matches the exterior. The red dash is a sharp detail that carries the color theme throughout the interior. A JVC stereo, cab lights, wind visor, black side steps, and chrome Ford rims complete a truck that has been thoughtfully put together from top to bottom. The original owner guide is still with the truck, and Gas Pedal Customs performed a full restoration keeping the original paint colors. Body work was handled by Pfeiffer Collision. These OBS 7.3 trucks have developed a genuine following among diesel enthusiasts. They have no emissions systems to fail, no complicated electronics to chase down, and a mechanical layout that a skilled owner or technician can work on with basic tools. Clean examples are becoming harder to find every year, and a fully built one like this in this condition is not something that comes along often. Please call or email us today for more information.
