Today they are known for brutal engine performance in all ranges of Mercedes. This 1996 Mercedes-Benz C36 AMG is reportedly one of 296 examples sent to the US for the model year. The hand-assembled 3.6L DOHC inline-six was factory rated at 276 horsepower and 284 lb-ft of torque, enough to propel the 3,500-pound sedan to 60 mph in 5.8 seconds when new. The seller is presenting the car with no known defects mechanically (we always encourage an inspection if you will feel more comfortable). There is paint bubbling near the added chrome wheel well arch that will enhance the value once repaired and the arch covers are removed. Overall, it is believed to have original paint. Our seller purchased this C36 from us in 2018, never drove it in poor weather and only used it on special occasions.
