Why? Because they’re one of the forefront builders of some of the fastest American muscle cars. A perfect example is our Callaway twin turbo C4 Corvette. Callaway’s C4 was the first and only machine that Chevrolet produced that had an “aftermarket” performance package offered as a factory option also known as a “Regular Production Option” or RPO for short . When configuring your C4, the selection of RPO B2K would enhance your Corvette with a fully revamped twin turbocharged 5.7L V8. MOVEMENT The Callaway C4 isn’t a regular Corvette with a turbo kit strapped onto the factory powerplant. By design, the engine was stripped down and reworked internally to guarantee factory reliability. An upgraded forged crankshaft was installed as well as forged pistons, supplemental fueling, revised cooling and exhaust. To handle the added power output, Callaway did a full suspension overhaul. Upgraded dampers, springs and sway bars were utilized as well as a revised IRS. The ride is firm but doesn’t sacrifice daily drivability. Almost 30 years later this C4 still provides confidence in high speed driving. Larger brakes were installed to cater to the increased output – housed in silver clear coated 17” Callaway 5-spoke wheels. The car has no misfires or boost leakes, the 7 speed manual transmission shifts flawlessly and the ride is firm with no clunks or squeaks. VISUALS & CONTROLS & CONDITION REPORT This example shows an interesting color combination: a matched blue leather on blue metallic exterior. The combination highlights the obviously vintage vibe of the C4 Corvette paired with the 80’s style boxy techno interior: a digital “futuristic” cluster, squared AC vents and sport bucket seats. The exterior paint is in very good condition with all lights functioning. The seats show little to no signs of wear with no tears on the leather. The dash shows no fade or bubbling.
