In the years following World War II, virtually every automaker around the world observed the success of the American Jeep, which was a light-duty, short wheelbase 4-wheel drive truck that was both rugged and agile enough to traverse seemingly any terrain. Making its debut in 1948, the British-made Land Rover had an unmistakable look and was powered by a modest 1595cc inline 4 cylinder engine. As the years progressed, this initial Land Rover design became a movie star, especially when the movie characters needed to traverse a thick jungle or were on a Saharan safari. The Fuel Injected LS V8 is backed by an upgraded 4L80E Automatic Transmission that makes this Land Rover 110 an easy SUV for anybody to drive. This Defender 110 is outfitted with a selectable 4x4 driveline with high and low gearing that provides additional traction when needed, and you can even lock the differentials should you need it.
