1981 Triumph TR8 – Rover 3.5L V8 63K Original Miles Exceptionally clean 1981 Triumph TR8 showing just 63,000 original miles. This beautiful example retains its original Rover 3.5L (3,528cc) aluminum V8 and is finished in rare Cashmere Gold Metallic with Tan/Doeskin interior trim. By 1981, British Leyland was winding down Triumph production, and the TR8 was in its final model year. Only about 400–450 cars were built that year, and according to TR8 Car Club records, fewer than 50 were finished in Cashmere Gold—most of them convertibles. The Cashmere Gold/Doeskin combination is among the rarest factory specifications, particularly for 1981 builds. This car was manufactured in May 1981, sold new in Oregon, and brought to California in 2009 with 48,000 miles. It includes the original owner’s packet and manuals, a clean Carfax, service records (available for download), and a clear California title. The Rover 3.5L V8 starts easily and runs smoothly with excellent power. The transmission shifts cleanly through all gears, and the car handles and brakes with precision. The interior remains in excellent original condition, including clean panels, carpeting, upholstery, and dash—comfortable and well-preserved throughout. The Cashmere Gold Metallic finish presents nicely with good depth and shine. Rubber, glass, and plastic trim pieces show well. The original convertible top is in very good condition, operates easily, and provides excellent visibility. Factory alloy wheels are in fine shape and wear Toyo Extensa A/S P185/70 R13 radials with light use.
