BODY OVERVIEW:

This Cougar XR7 stands tall as the ultra-original "Box-Top" survivor. The body is solid and lacks the rust issues due to being a California car.  Buyers should note that the plastic rub strips on the bumpers have aged beyond the rest of the vehicle which is a common Fox-body era trait. The formal lines of the car showcase the early 80s aesthetic. 



PAINT CONDITION OVERVIEW:

Finished in a striking Blue with a matching Dark Blue vinyl top, this Cougar looks sharp. The blue paint appears to be an older paint job and holds a nice shine, though it does have some "beauty marks" common with a 46 year old survivor. It presents well as-is for weekend cruises and local shows but a future owner may choose to go all out with detailing to take it to the next level. 



INTERIOR CONDITION OVERVIEW:

1980s optimism shows clearly in the plush blue leather interior. The leather is soft and well-preserved besides a few rips expected at this age, along with sun damage on the rear seat tops. The seats, dash, and door panels are in good original condition.  The factory keypad entry and power seats and windows add to the charm and functionality of this retro ‘80s classic!



MECHANICAL OVERVIEW:

Under the hood is the legendary Ford 302ci (5.0L) V8, paired with a smooth 3-speed automatic transmission. This engine is one of the most reliable and easy-to-service engines ever built. This Cougar runs and drives well, making it a great weekend cruiser. The factory TRX wheels are a unique feature, but buyers should note they require TRX tires.
