1975 TRIUMPH TR-6 ROADSTER #CF38797U. (Stock #4430.) The Triumph Company was formed in England in 1885, manufacturing bicycles. Following the war, many interesting Triumph automobiles were produced and, by the 1950's, the company had evolved to the point of producing some highly successful and equally attractive sports cars. The TR-2 was a very pretty 2-seater, 4-cylinder roadster which offered performance, impressive for its time, to go with its handsome design. The TR-3's and TR-4's followed with increasing performance figures- still with the 2 litre, 4-cylinder engine. In 1966, the new 6-cylinder TR-6 roadster was introduced to great approval from the motoring public. The displacement had now been increased to 2500cc, the gearbox was now a fully-synchronized 4-speed unit and new disc brakes were fitted to the front. The very successful TR-6 continued in production through 1976 when it was followed by a 4-cylinder "Shape of Things to Come” model called the TR-7, followed by the TR-8 prior to Triumph closing its doors. Our car was sold new to a local enthusiast who passed it on to his brother years later. The car remained with that family, covering just over 40,000 miles, for almost 50 years. It was refinished in the original shade of Mimosa Yellow @ 20 years ago, remains in very nice condition throughout, drives beautifully and is accompanied by original tools, owners handbook and a new convertible top boot. 43,842 miles. $23,000.
