Photos will be up later. Cars For Sale don't offer a Healey choice. I guess they think Jensen only made Interceptors The Jensen-Healey is a limited production British roadster. Powered by a 1,973 cc Lotus 907 dual-overhead-cam, 16-valve all alloy engine. This multi-valve engine was the first modern dual overhead cam 4-valve-per-cylinder engine to be mass-produced on an assembly line. This engine produced approximately 144 bhp. Performance was brisk for its class, topping out at 119 mph. Zero to 60 mph took 8.1 seconds for the emission-controlled U.S. version. It was mated to a 5-speed Getrag gearbox. 1975 was the last year of production for the USA cars. These end of production cars represented the most sorted iteration of the model. Only about 10,500 were made in total for the world. Jensen Motors ran a factory race team to compete in the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) D Production Championship. This team was put together by Huffaker Engineering in California, USA. Although it was a new car, the Jensen-Healey went on to become one of the few cars in SCCA history to win a championship in its first year of racing (1973). The roadster also, uniquely in Sports Car Club of America history, captured five SCCA national "D" production championships. The oil crisis hit Jensen Motors hard. Greatly damaging the sales of its V8 Interceptor model and thus degrading its financial condition as a whole. Amid strike action, component shortages and inflation, Jensen proceeded to liquidate in 1975 and then close in May 1976.The example we have here is a one owner car with 29,579 miles showing. This has been represented as original by the original owner. Having spent most of its life in storage in Hawaii, a place hard to put huge mileage on a car. The owner shipped it to his son here in Santa Monica at which time it was serviced by us and had new tyres fitted. Tyres have almost zero mileage since installation maybe 8 or 10 years ago. It has a solid body and tidy interior. The paintwork has been redone and is totally adequate but not show quality. This is a great driver that you could restore at your own leisure if you decided that was the route for you. Otherwise enjoy as it is. Finished in Red with Tan interior.
