Used 1971 Buick Gran Sport

1971 Buick GS350

Starting in 1965 the Gran Sport name was applied to several high performance cars created by Buick. What was interesting about this marquee is that in the GM line Buick was only surpassed by Cadillac when it came to comfort and luxury features. Cadillac, however, was not creating performance models which left this performance luxury hybrid combo wide open and the Buick Gran Sport was the answer. This made them the most luxury sports model for GM during this era. It was initially a trim level applied to Skylarks but around 1967 became its own model. This 1971 GS350 convertible is in great condition and is basically a fully restored car but just needs a few final details to finish it off. Only 656 were made making it a pretty unique muscle car. The body has been stripped down to bare metal and completely repainted in its original Stratomist Blue with a Black power convertible top. You will note a small spot of primer on the passenger door from a small scratch repair that just needs to be touched up. Matching paint does come with it. The chrome bumpers have a nice shine and a majority of the original trim/emblems are in place but there a few remaining to be installed. Those do however come with the car. In back it has the N-25 bumper with chrome exhaust tips. The glass on it is all good with no issues and the top does have a new real glass rear window that has its own dedicated defroster. The car has a great stance and rides on a set of factory wheels with Buick center caps and BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires.

Under the dual scoops on the hood sits the numbers matching 350V8 motor that runs great. It has been completely rebuilt with all new rods, pistons, etc. It has plenty of power and everything has a very stock original appearance. It is topped off with the correct GS 350 air cleaner that meets up to the scoops which are functional. Paired with the motor is a rebuilt 3 speed automatic transmission to transfer power back to the stock 10 bolt rear end. Disc brakes are found up front which are power assisted and it has power steering as well making it a very comfortable cruiser. The suspension has also been totally gone through and is new.

The interior upholstery in it is all new and done in Black. It has the split front bench seat and Black lap belts are in place both in front and rear. The dash on it needs to be finished out with a new dash pad but the factory style gauges are all there, wired in and working properly. The stock 3 spoke steering wheel sits in front of the driver but does need the original horn button. The trunk is all finished out with a stock style mat and has plenty of space for all your car show gear.
