1968 Plymouth Road Runner
1968 was a special era for the muscle car world. This was somewhat late in the decade for muscle cars but heavy regulations that would soon start popping in the 70's haven't arrived. That made vehicles like this Plymouth Road Runner possible. The were introduced in 1968 and were designed to integrate powerful engines with a focus on performance but with a more desirable price tag. To accomplish this Chrysler focused on performance only making a stripped down hot rod. Going fast was the focus and they pulled it off beautifully. Fancy trim, fancy wheels, and power options were left out to make sure nothing would rob it of power. This very clean example is a very stock car with only 36,379 reflected on the odometer. The body on it is all very solid and wears its original Matador Red paint. 1 of the quarters did require repair due to some minor rust and the repair was done in steel. Despite being stripped of most of the trim they did still installed a great looking grill with double headlights and nice chrome bumpers. This car was also ordered from the factory with a tinted windshield, drivers side remote operated mirror and drip rail moldings. It also has the factory hood with side vents that incorporate the blacked out trim. It rides on its color match wheels with dog dish center caps which really work well the the sleeper feel the Road Runner was meant to be.
Turning the BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires is its original 383 V8 motor. A lot of the components have been painted Chrysler Blue and it is topped off with an aftermarket 4 barrel Edelbrock carburetor hidden under the factory "Road Runner Engine 383" air cleaner. It runs very strong and is paired with a 4 speed manual combined with its original 3.23 rear end. The car sounds great and is ready to be enjoyed.

The interior of the car is done in Black and it is a factory split bench seat car. This again adds to that "cool factor" you get from these Road Runners. They have been fitted with retractable lap belts and the upholstery is in good condition. The headliner, dash, and doors panels are all stock. Up top it does have the courtesy light which is working. On the floor is a Hurst shifter that moves through the gears smoothly. The padded dash has all of its standard gauges, switches and in front of the driver is the leather wrapped steering wheel. The trunk has a stock style mat and houses a matching spare wheel. Underneath the mat the pan is all solid and painted.
This is one very cool classic that is pure Mopar Muscle.
This beauty is all yours for $55,500.00!
