1965 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud III LWB The Silver Cloud 3 represented a watershed moment for Rolls-Royce, combining the traditional luxury elements and a newfound sense of modernity. Its 6.2-liter V8 engine, an improvement over the previous Silver Cloud II, upheld the Rolls-Royce ideal of gradual refinement. However, the Silver Cloud III also signaled the company's first foray into contemporary styling, with quad headlamps, a lowered hood and radiator shell, all adding a touch of modern flair. Inside, the interior retained its timeless craftsmanship the marque was renowned for, with Connolly leather and opulent Carpathian burl wood trim retaining the timeless craftsmanship that was Rolls-Royce. This model not only continued Rolls-Royce's legacy of automotive excellence but also demonstrated its ability to adapt to evolving tastes while maintaining its commitment to craftsmanship and luxury. The burl wood interior trim, including dash, division trim, fold-down rear picnic tables, door trim was restored to top condition. The long-wheelbase body was refinished in white under previous ownership and features the Flying Lady Spirit of Ecstasy mascot hood ornament, Lucas headlights and driving lights, chrome bumpers with overrides. The paint is very good, finished in white. Features electric windows and it is equipped with an electrically operated ‘Division’ glass divider between the front and rear seats in addition to a four-speed automatic transmission. Seats upholstered in white leather accented with blue gray piping. Additional work under current ownership included rebuilds of the distributor and fuel pump as well as a refresh of the brakes, stopping power is provided by four-wheel drum brakes, which were overhauled under current ownership with a rebuilt servo and master cylinders along with new brake hoses and wheel cylinders and replacement of the tires, water pump, thermostat, radiator hoses, and exhaust system. Charging system has been upgraded to heavy duty alternator. Front and rear heat works great with dual heat controls. Air conditioning blows ice cold with dual controls separate for front and rear.
