The MGA is a sports car that was produced by MG from 1955 until 1962. The MGA replaced the MG TF and represented a complete styling break from MG's earlier sports cars. Announced on 26 September 1955, the car was officially launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show. A total of 101,476 units were marketed through the end of production in July 1962, the vast majority of which were exported and the MGA was replaced by the MGB. An early open car tested by British magazine The Motor in 1955 had a top speed of 97.8 mph and could accelerate from 0–60 mph in 16.0 seconds. A fuel consumption of 22.2 miles per gallon was recorded. This sleek looking MGA was nicely restored to local show quality by the passionate last owners. The red and tan color combination makes this iconic British sportscar a real attention getter. The paint finish is high luster and the chrome surfaces replaced or replated. The interior has all been replaced with proper patterned materials used when the cars were built and matching seat belte. It also features an original banjo style steering wheel. This MGA has the later 1600cc motor which was rebuild offering more horsepower over the 1500cc motor. The front brakes have also been retrofitted with more efficient disc style for better stopping. Optional equipment includes a factory style luggage rack, wind wings, side curtains, tonneau cover, and car cover. It also comes with an original factory repair manual, parts manual, and records dating back to 1983. This MGA is a real pleasure to drive!
