2016 Maserati Ghibli Base

Historically, Maserati vehicles haven't always been at the forefront of reliability. The Ghibli, while improved, can still be prone to occasional electrical gremlins and higher repair costs compared to more mainstream luxury sedans. Thorough pre-purchase inspection is highly recommended.

The infotainment system is functional and features a decent-sized touchscreen. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto were optional or introduced later, so early 2016 models might be less equipped in this regard. The overall interface feels a bit dated compared to newer competitors.

The ride is generally well-damped for a sporty sedan, absorbing most road imperfections. However, some road noise can intrude into the cabin at higher speeds, and the seats, while stylish, could offer more support for longer journeys.

As a Maserati, the Ghibli comes with a premium price tag, both new and used. Running costs, including maintenance and fuel, are also higher than many competitors in its class, making it a less practical choice for budget-conscious buyers.

The Ghibli's interior is undeniably stylish and uses premium materials. However, rear-seat space is a bit tight, and the trunk, while decent, isn't class-leading. Storage cubbies are also somewhat limited.

While the Ghibli offers a respectable driving experience with its powerful V6 engine and rear-wheel-drive bias, it doesn't quite reach the sharp agility of some German rivals. The steering is communicative, but body roll can be noticeable in spirited driving.
