- Reliability (3)The Ecotec engine is generally sturdy, but owners frequently report issues with the cooling system, water pumps, and minor electrical gremlins in the convertible top sensors.
- Maintenance (3)Routine mechanical parts are affordable due to GM parts-bin sharing, but Saturn-specific body panels and trim pieces are increasingly difficult and expensive to locate.
- Technology (2)Equipped with basic GM corporate switchgear of the era, the tech is limited to a simple CD/MP3 player and OnStar, lacking any sophisticated driver aids or navigation.
- Comfort (2)The cabin is extremely tight for taller drivers, and the lack of interior storage combined with a trunk that disappears when the top is down makes it impractical for trips.
- Dynamics (4)The 260-hp turbocharged engine delivers strong straight-line performance and the chassis is well-balanced, though it feels slightly heavier and less nimble than a Miata.
